Main Qualifications To Start A Chapter


One of the main qualifications is that your school offers a course of study in business. The next qualification is that the students interested in starting a chapter of Phi Gamma Nu have completed at least six semester hours and have at least a GPA of 2.0 out of a 4.0.

Steps & Procedures On Starting A Chapter


FIRST STEP:
Call a meeting of qualified, interested students to review the purpose, requirements and organizational procedure.

SECOND STEP:
Select a name for the local group that can be used until the group is installed as a chapter of Phi Gamma Nu at which time a Greek name will be assigned.

THIRD STEP:
Elect officers --- President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Editor. Notify Phi Gamma Nus National Headquarters of who has been elected to these positions through a form that will be provided for you.

FOURTH STEP:
Prepare a list of names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of the interested students for future notice of meetings and events.

FIFTH STEP:
Select an advisor. The advisor should be selected with the approval of the local group members in cooperation with the school administration.

SIXTH STEP:
Secure recognition from the college administration and any faculty or student committees, which approves new student organizations.

SEVENTH STEP:
Set goals and prepare a budget. Plan a program of professional and social activities such as professional speakers to speak to your group on interests in business, set up business seminars for not only your group but also include the all the students in the business school, set up industrial/ businesses tours, hold dinner meetings, etc.

EIGHTH STEP:
Submit a progress report to the Phi Gamma Nu National Headquarters, 6745 Cheryl Ann Dr., Seven Hills, OH 44131-3720 or e-mail at exedir2@yahoo.com.

After a reasonable period of successful operation, the group may express a desire to submit a petition in writing to the National Fraternity. All necessary forms for petiting can be obtained from National Headquarters.

Required Costs For Starting A Chapter


*One time Charter Fee of $200.00 per group

*Initiation Fee of $70.00 per individual which when paid will guarantee the new member a Phi Gamma Nu Membership Certificate and Membership Pin. The Initiation Fee is a one-time fee.

*National Dues. The first National Dues payment is included in the Initiation Fee. The next payment of National Dues will be payable the first billing period following the initiation. The National Dues are $40.00 per semester payable October 15th and February 15th.
