Three pillars form the organizational goals of Phi Gamma Nu. Each organization event is directed towards a pillar. Overall, four aims and purposes reflect the intent of the Phi Gamma Nu pillars.
Professional Development
The most exciting aspect of Phi Gamma Nus professional business fraternity status is its ability to guide students looking to get a jump-start on their career search.
As future members of an increasingly competitive workforce, it has become necessary to stand out in a growing crowd of college graduates. Phi gamma Nu can give you that edge you need to be an attractive candidate in the job market.
Professionalism is a standard of behavioral guidelines for a business atmosphere. This standard includes concrete actions and speech etiquette, but it also encompasses a mindset guiding ones mannerisms. Phi Gamma Nu builds active professionalism through the following activities resume critiques, etiquette dinners, business presentations, cover letter workshops, company information sessions, mock interviews, and recruiter question and answer sessions.
Members have the opportunity to visit cutting-edge marketing, banking, consulting, and accounting firms in the Chicago or Saint Louis area. Most importantly, however, Phi Gamma Nu provides the opportunity for our members to network with each other, which creates useful relationships for future career development.
Social
To ensure the stability and well-being of the chapter, social events are an important aspect of Phi Gamma Nu. Phi Gamma Nu is more than just an organization. We are a group of dedicated, loyal friends built upon the foundation of brotherhood. The relationships we form with our brothers and sisters truly last a lifetime. Social events give us an opportunity to strengthen these relationships and bond as brothers and sisters.
A variety of different activities help build strong brotherhood. Some activities include bar scrambles, bar crawls, case races, signature parties, pledge parties, apple picking, and taps tournaments.
Our social schedule is filled to the brim with events that make each semester more fun than the last. Its not just our events, however, that make our social pillar so great. The people you meet as a Phi Gamma Nu member are what make our organization so special, and our social events help build lasting friendships that last far beyond our years in college.
Philanthropy
Beyond social and professional pursuits, Phi Gamma Nu encourages its members to actively participate in philanthropy. Active community service helps build a sense of communal ethics and culture. Giving back to our local community is an important part of our organizations philosophy, and we pride ourselves on contributing to a variety of philanthropic events each year.
Activities to build this pillar include participating in Adopt-a-Highway, animal shelters, soup kitchens, womens shelters, and food pantries.
If theres one thing that may surprise you about our list of philanthropic events, its how much fun it can be to participate. Each event allows its participants to give back to the community and bond with other Phi Gamma Nu members.
